I am Siris, a writer, photographer, hiker and caver from the Netherlands. Longtime lover of the Scottish Highlands, in 2022, while on a break from my medicine studies, I took my chances to do an exchange semester at the University of Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">What was meant to be four months of studying abroad, became eight months of travelling around the most beautiful corners of Scotland, by train, ferry, van &amp; on foot, at the end of which this wild land felt in many ways like home. I saw things and learned skills that I would never have imagined, from witnessing the northern lights on a lonesome hilltop, to delving into the deepest depths underground. What moved me most during my travels were those experiences that tickled my senses and challenged the way I see the world around me. This blog is a little glimpse into what I\u2019ve found along the way.
